Over night our Exchange server version 2007 stopped delivering e-mail and after an reboot all the exchange services stopped responding.
when comming accross the next event in the eventvwr:
Process MSEXCHANGEADTOPOLOGYSERVICE.EXE (PID=2392). Topology discovery failed, error 0x80040920 (LDAP_NO_SUCH_OBJECT). Look up the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) error code specified in the event description. To do this, use Microsoft Knowledge Base article 218185, "Microsoft LDAP Error Codes." Use the information in that article to learn more about the cause and resolution to this error. Use the Ping or PathPing command-line tools to test network connectivity to local domain controllers.
be sure to check the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CURRENTCONTROLSET SERVICES NETLOGON PARAMATERS
make sure the values for DynamicSiteName and SiteName are equal.

Thank you so much for this! I had an exchange 2010 server experiencing issues with all the MS exchange services not starting and stopping with errors. For us we went to the registry key you pointed out and we actually just deleted the “SiteName” key and kept the DynamicSiteName and now all the services are started up now.
